Welcome! My name is Drew Edwards.
I am a Founding Engineer at Happenstance (YC W24), where we are building AI-powered search over your network. I am also a PhD candidate at the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence and Music, where I work on jazz piano, automatic transcription, and generative models. Previously I worked in applied machine learning at Apple and before that at Lighthouse A.I.
Recently: Flatten SF, which finds the flattest route between any two points in San Francisco, and Learning Jazz Pianist Style with Cross-Attention Conditioning, our paper at ISMIR 2026.
I am an avid student of music and the piano, and have always had a keen interest in mathematics.
